Delete your account

You can close your Tyknit account at any time, from this page or from Your data in the app. Deletion is final: once it runs there is no way to bring the account back.

Checking your account…

What is removed

Your name, photo, phone number, email, profession, bio, skills and anything else you wrote about yourself. Your sign-in, so the account can no longer be used. Your notification history and the device tokens that send you alerts. The nomination that first brought you into a circle, including the statement written about you.

What stays, and why

A circle’s ledger is the circle’s record, not one member’s. Contributions, votes and standing history stay, with your name replaced by “Former member” — so the books still add up for everyone else. Messages you sent stay in their conversations under the same name. This is how the money record remains honest after anyone leaves.

If you still owe a circle something, deletion does not cancel it: the obligation stays on their books against “Former member”. Your officers are told the moment you file, so it can be settled properly first.

If you are an officer

A circle can never be left headless. If you are the only officer of a circle, your officers are told when you file, so they can appoint someone. If nobody has by the time deletion runs, the title passes automatically — to the successor you named, or else to the longest-standing member.

How long it takes

Deletion completes within 30 days. Nothing is deleted before then, and you can cancel at any point in that window — from this page, or from Your data in the app. We email you when you file, and the message tells you the exact date.

Take your data with you first

Before you delete, you can download everything Tyknit holds about you as a single JSON file: your profile, memberships, standing history, vouches, the messages you wrote and your notifications. Use Download my data below — after deletion it cannot be recovered.

If you cannot sign in

Lost the phone and the number with it? Email privacy@tyknit.net from an address linked to your account, or write from any address and tell us the phone number you used. We verify it is you before anything is deleted, and the same 30-day window applies from the day we confirm.
